Never had a problem with this motor. Sat all winter, took to Lake this spring and noticed a small knocking noise from motor. In neutral as well as in gear. Took to local mechanic and he tells me my #2 cylinder is only pushing 50psi. They suggest a power head. Question is can the problem be solved with some more diagnostics? He says there is only 1 power head in the country for this motor and it retails for 11999. With labor he quoted me almost 15k! I'm also running into the problem that no one wants to work on a motor that's over 15 years old. I wish they would do a little more digging into the motor rather than just doing a compression test and telling me my motor is blown.
