yamaha F30 2008

Diaphragm 2 under carburetor have two rubber rings and a plastic ring outside on the rod. It could not have popped out when we disassembled the carburetor.... Do not know if it was like that before we started. Does it matter? what is the function of that diaphragm? Motor starts when cold but stops after 30 seconds and is then not possible to start.
