Yamaha C115TLRR 1993

Had to change the stator last season. Currently motor idles, shifts and run well so long as I accelerate quickly through to over 3000RPM. There seems to be a sort of 2500 RPM Barred speed range that has been created. I am not a Yamaha Master Mechanic and no one in my area will work on a 1993 yamaha outbaord.

Any thoughts on what is out of adjustment?

Thank you

Thank you,

I should have mentioned. In the process of troubleshooting what turned out to be the stator. I have replaced the CDI and rebuilt the carbs. The motor will run at any RPM, at around the 2500 RPM range it runs like it's trying to rattle itself apart. Lower than 2500 and above around 2800 it smooths out and runs great.

If it runs over 3000rpm then drops back to 2500 rpm it could be your CDI But first i would clean your carbs and replace your fuel pump, both a lot cheaper then the CDI
