2002 Yamaha 225 HP OX66
by: Tommy

My 225 Yamaha is now over heating while idling around scanning with fish finder for 5 or 10 mins. Alarm sounds and over heat light comes on and I just put a new impeller in it. Any ideas?

Same thing on my 60FET
by: Bruce

Hi
Had similar issue with my 2001 60hp FET premix. Engine is 3 cyl and after confirming / replacing thermostat and water pump finally found culprit. #2 cyl had intake leak at carb mounting... no fuel no oil and cyl siezing during extended idle / low rpm. Would alarm only at idle speed as soon as throttle increased alarm would cease. Expensive repair but now very wary if low idle note changes when running.
