Volvo Penta 5.7 GL-J 2011

2011 Chaparral Sunesta. Discrepancy between gauge total hours (350 hours), ECM total hours (350) and RPM breakdown hours (1000+). Boat condition is consistent with 350 hours, no signs of tampering. What's a reasonable explanation? What's a nefarious explanation? How would I tell?
