Volvo Penta 5.0GL 2005

Boat has 220 hours. I launched and ran for about two minutes at 3500 RPM's and it started overheating. shutdown let cool off and then idled for three minutes at a time to get back to dock. Everything appears to be fine cosmetically. Heat/alarm sensors weren't connected but that shouldn't matter. Am I do for a new impeller? And how much do they cost to install.

Impellers if no water circulation BUT first check the water pump impeller condition, shouldn't be failing at these hours. Overheating can also be due to blocked seawater inlet, blocked strainer, was the seawater inlet valve open, just asking okay, a popular omission. Also thermostat fault but less likely. You can change yourself. Please go set the heat alarms sensors reconnected, thats why you have them
