SUZUKI DF115 2004

I was changing the impeller, which went as advertised according to the Suzuki service manual. The manual said, "disconnect the clutch shaft if necessary", whatever you are supposed to deduce from that?? Anyway, everything came out with no problem & everything went back in fine. Apparently, something wasn't lined up right. When I tried to shift gears it sheared the linkage pin off of the "shaft, clutch", P/N 21210-90j10. I ordered the part & the associated bushings. The clutch rod is disconnected from the above referenced "shaft, clutch" (pn 21210-90j10) but I am not sure how to get the old part out. I don't see anything holding it but it doesn't want to come out! The clutch lever link is disconnected. I am thinking maybe I need to take the clutch shaft holder off but decided it would be a better plan to try to find somebody that knows the proper procedure. Everything is easy if you know what to do!
I am a retired SC Land Surveyor & a Navy Vietnam Vet, (VA 94 aboard CVA 31). I am currently fishing out of Georgetown (Winyah Bay), formally offshore Charleston.
Suzuki mechanics are pretty thin here. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
thank you,
Charlie Aycock
p.s. : I sent in my registration info. for the "Suzuki forum", so I am looking forward to comparing notes with "like minded" boaters & fishermen. Email: geometric.5122@ tutanota.com

impeller job not easy
by: Anonymous

impeller change job easy but with traps. When I was doing mine, well did a lot of youtube as I have never done it before. My motor is honda so it may not apply but you need to go on youtube see how it is done. I remember there was a trick to use a clamp not to allow the rod to fall down and allow for an easy alignment it back. Can't help you more but do some investigation what went wrong hopefully you learn how to do it and fix this. cheers
