My hydraulics have stopped working on the motor, I can lift manually by easing off the screw but not electronically. Any help would be appreciated.

DF60A Trim Issue
by: Anonymous

First what year model is your DF60A? This initially came out in 2012. If your motor is of this year, most probably its an issue with the wiring harness or the trim motor itself.

You can test first the trim switch on the remote control lever and then on the side of the engine. If you get the same results then the issue is not on the trim switch. If you here a click when you either trim up or down then the trim relay is working (rarely are there issues with the relay). If it trims in up or down but does no trim the other way then the issue is with the wiring. Probably a corroded wire to the trim motor.

You can remove the socket of the wire (2 wires inside - pink and blue) that is connected to the trim motor. Pink is trim down and blue is trim up. Get 2 wires with alligator clips on either ends. Connect one end to the battery (positive and negative) and supply that power to the pink and blue wire of the trim motor. If the trim motor spins without any grinding sound then the motor is fine. Reversing the polarity from the battery will make the motor turn the other direction.

Hopefully this helps diagnose the problem. When the issue is corroded wiring related, the solution is to replace the entire engine harness.
