After troubleshooting my problem - won't go over 3000RPM- I need to get to and probably change the engine mounted Neutral Switch. My boat is on my lift at my house and I do not have the add-on maintenance platforms (very expensive).
My question- - is it possible( advisable) to remove the side panels for access to the switch if I tilt the engine all the way up and work from inside the boat? It looks to me like a bunch of phillips head screws and two bolts that hold the panels on. I do have a trailer but no truck available to pull it.
Additionally, I would be able to change the oil filter at the same time. This is a completely re-built engine - only 242 hours since rebuild- and it has been serviced up to now by the builder. I am capable of the repair but I need to get to it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Ed
