Out drive problems

While boating one day I hit a large rock with the propeller and bent it real bad. I replaced the propeller with the spare. I spent the rest of the day without issues. First time out this year we spent the day cruseing around and only noticed we were at higher RPMs than normal. Later in the day when getting the boat on plain the boat started to overheat, slowing down it cools off. Trying to troubleshoot while in the water I checked the pickup ports , nothing blocking those, every once in a while it feels like the new propeller slips. On the trailer today I ran the boat with the hose, in and out of gear could not get the boat to get above 150 degrees. Just for procations I removed the lower end and found the impeller looks ok. Any suggestions?
