Motor wont start 1994 60hp mercury 2stroke

I have a 1994 60hp merc 2stroke the motor turns over fine but the only way to get it started is by putting the motors throttle in gear going forward as im turning the key. motor has a very hard time idling once running and will die out often while idling. i have changed a few things already such as the fuel filter and fuel line thinking that would help but it has not improved my situation at all. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Repair
by: Anonymous

I remember I had the same problem, but I needed a boat that day, so I rented a boat instead of repairing mine. The next day I still decided to fix it. In general, do not dare to start on a dry and then change the impeller to the received problem. If the engine will work longer in this state, even overheating, falling compression, and a possible seizure of pistons and engine wedge!!! Water in the water intake does not affect starting and operating the engine itself, and it affects the supply of cooling water and engine cooling. You can tell from these words that you have not dealt with the repair in any way. If there is a spark and the spark plug is dry, it is 95% a fuel system problem. Unscrew the plugs, spray a small amount of fuel into the cylinders and try a pull. If there are flashes, check the entire fuel system, starting with the tank, hoses, pear, filter, fuel pump, carburetor. Again, don't start it dry !!!!
