I am trying to help a niece with a outboard engine problem. The motor belongs to her school's rowing team. There is a red light on the handle near the tiller that flashes when you pull the starting cord.It flashes whether the switch is in "run" or "Off".
When they brought the engine to me , it was tagged ,by someone,
"no compression", it was also out of oil. I filled it with oil, did a compression check- 60 psi both cylinders . Can anyone
offer a solution to the flashing light. It is manual start.
