Mercury 60 ELPTO 2 stroke, 2002

The alarm goes off when you turn the key and never stops. It’s the continuous beep, which can be oil or heat related. It does this at cold start, so I disconnected the heat sensor, still beeps. I then disconnected the blue wire, which is what I believe is the sensor for the low oil, which is full, still beeps. I’m guessing it’s the alarm itself, but don’t want to ruin the engine. Should Premix my fuel until I get it fixed, replace the buzzer, or???? Any ideas or suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I just got the boat and noticed an extra 12ga “ground wire” going from a bolt on the starter to a negative terminal on the starting battery. The beeper sounds with or without it hooked up. Guessing it’s unrelated, but worth mentioning.
