My 2016 20 HP 4 stoke Motor is leaking gas through a bypass tube from the carb that drains into the water from the housing around the lower unit. I’ve attempted to clean the carb twice with a Mercury brand carb cleaner per directions. No luck. I suspect a dirty needle valve, float or seat.
This all began after a $350 tuneup charge and 3 month wait with a certified Mercury master mechanic. The motor had maybe 10-15 hrs since the tuneup when I noticed the gas pooling behind the boat. HELP!!
