I removed the lower unit to replace the impeller. I cannot align the driveshaft spline with the crankshaft. I have tried rocking the engine and turning the flywheel to get the splines aligned with no success. I have a helper for assistance. When I look through the housing to see the entrance to the crank spline I see something blocking the entrance. It looks like the edge of a round part sitting in the middle of the shaft entrance tunnel. There is no way the drive shaft can align with anything. Question, is there anyway a bearing or the crankshaft could shift out of position. The outboard was working fine when I put it away last fall. Rick Mc
