I have a strange problem with my 2006 mercury 115 hp efi (not optimax). It starts fine, idles fine. It will run fine up to about 2800 rpm's and it will run fine above 4200 rpm's
But, at 3500 rpm's (+/- 600 rpm's) once it warms up it has an intermittent misfire.
What was replaced last year for a different problem… fuel injection system ($1200) which didn't fix the problem then a new wiring harness which did fix it.
This new problem started about a month ago and I replaced the spark plugs then the coil packs but the problem is still there.
Has anyone ever had or heard of this issue with a 2006 mercury outboard 115 hp?
I'm starting to get desperate, the local mechanics don't have a clue.
