low compression 2 cylinders after rebuild

Bought a 2000 Searay sundancer. marine dealer sales sheet stated "New/Rebuilt motors very low hours" I took that to mean 1 new and 1 rebuilt motor, both with very low hours. Now dealer says that met newly rebuilt however at tiem of purchase rebuilds were 2 years old. Next boats engines are mercruisers, i was told after sale both were rebuilt, new longblocks. heard rumors on dock that port engine had low compression and lst prospective buyer recended offer. Long story shory dealer said engines had no issues after rebuilds but engine failed compression test last week, same engine. Boat should now have 40 hours after rebuilds , stated25 hours on sales sheet January 2016. Broker said all that was needed was the valves needed adjusting and after they did that it solved the low compression issue so that is why they did not disclose it during sale but as we see now. boat failed compression test. can adjusting valves correct low compression
