Johnson 120 loop charged 1986 model

I just experienced an engine fire from the voltage regulator. Had to disconnect battery because starter was continually engaging. The fire Never got too big and I was able to extinguish it but haven't had time to assess damage yet. My question is this. Because the motor is almost 40 years old (1986 loop charged Johnson 120) are there other electrical
components I should go ahead and replace while I'm at it? The motor itself is in excellent condition and I want to avoid future problems if possible
