Honda BF90D 2017

15 amp fuse blew while just idling, brought to idle after going my regular 5 mile jaunt at full speed. everything normal up to this point. looked for a problem with electrical wiring, saw none, so I put the backup fuse in. blew again and had to get towed in. it cranks over just fine. 600 hrs.

it is the 15 amp fuse in the fuse block on the engine, and it is the one with the white/green stripe wire. I've looked at the wiring diagram, and it shows one side going into the main relay, other side going to the ignition coils. (the diagram also shows the wires from this fuse as yellow/green, but mine is just solid yellow, if that matters at all)

any suggestions on where to go first? Im not sure what would cause this, obviously a short has occurred somewhere, but this engine is like new, could the harness to the remote control bring up an issue? any help appreciated! thanks

last update- thanks for all the help haha. I'm posting anyway in case someone has the same issue. It was the ignition coil causing the short and blowing the 15A fuse. replaced the coil (and plugs) and now shes purring again. good luck out there- B

well, I ordered the service manual to get the official word on wiring- its different than the one they (HONDA) let you download for free. Turns out the white/green to 15A fuse to (indeed solid yellow wire) goes to the CMP,CKP, and ECU. so my next course of action is to test those sensors- I figure it must be a short in one of them.

Incidentally, I pulled the coils when I thought it was that, and have one that is off (bulging, different resistance than other 3) but I think it is still working. I will say that I've had a little harder starts/start stalling over the past several uses, which is probably because I've never checked my plugs (gaps were .005-.012" too big)which is also probably why the one coil is "warped"/off- working too hard.?

I really hope its not the ECU, cant see why it would be. will update as I probe further, but if anyone has any insight here let me know! Thanks
