GM 307QLV 200HP Sterndrive

So the boat has been sitting for 2 years covered and under a round top shelter. Changes plugs, wires and fuel/water separator. It will fire up but just stalls out. Sometimes it will rev up but just spits and sputters and pops through the intake. Seems like it gets worse after I try it several times when the temp finally goes up. I am having difficulty finding anything about it except bad things. The boat has 240 hrs. Some kind of guidance would extremely be appreciated. Thanks from Tennessee.

Volvo Penta 5.7 Gs fuel problems
by: Anonymous

E-10 gas will jell at two years. I had to call USA Fuel and get them to pump out my tank, filter my gas and put some of their gas treatment in the filtered gas before they replace the treated gas in my tank. You also have to replace your water/gas separator with a new one and overhaul your carb. to get the gelled gas out of it. It cost me approximately $350.00 to pump out my 56 gallon tank, filter and treat the gas and put the cleaned& treated gas back in my tank. It ran just great last year after that but I did not take any chances with my fuel pump and replaced that also! You have to change out the fuel/water separator every year with the E-10 gas. last, make sure you replace your carb. gaskets with e-10 gas rated gaskets as well.
