I am trying to learn what the best 2 stroke oil would be to use in this 30year old boat/motor. I have good compression and it might need a little tlc regarding the carbs although it does run and idled for 15 minutes in a tank today with no trouble. Considering the age and difficulty in finding parts etc, I would like to baby this thing and find an oil to mix with my fuel that would provide the best benefit. So, is it synthetic? Is it wise to mix the fuel with a heavier oil concentration? Non-ethanol?
Thanks in advance.
Louie..

Don't overdo the 50:1 oil/gas ratio, guaranteed to foul your plugs quickly. Stick with a good quality TCW-3 regular two-cycle oil: no synthetics. That's what these motors were engineered for. No ethanol fuel EVER!
