has a miss and to keep it running you have to keep working the choke in and out then when i put it in gear it usually quits then have to choke it again to start it

I don't know your particular motor but I do know when having to run a motor with choke on it is usually a carb. problem ,it needs taken apart and cleaned and some times i have had to do it more than once to get it right.
