My 2011 bass tracker 40 hp four stroke mercury will start up and run fine for a while then it starts losing power and bogging down to nothing , You can immediately turn the key off and start it back and it will take off like nothing happened . Then after a while it will do it again ? I have replaced the fuel filter on the motor and also replaced the pump bulb. The motor is fuel injected. It ain't giving any alarms . Thanks

Ignition coils. They were backordered since March but I finally got them changed out and my 40 ran perfect last time out. No loss of power at any point. Someone on another forum said it worked for him and when I ran out of troubleshooting I just ordered 3 new ones. You can prob order 1 and replace 1 at a time until you identify the source. But I just got all 3 because I’m impatient and didn’t want to potentially go through 2 more bad trips. 8M0045124 was mine - I have the part number memorized. Hope it works out for you too.

Same problem

I’m having the same problem with my 2016 40hp Mercury 4 stroke 3 cylinder. I lose power but get no alarms. Turning the engine off then immediately back on fixes the issue. You guys ever figure out the source?
