I tried to start my Mercury up for the first time this year and found that one of the coil s were bad, I replaced it and it cranked fine but all of a sudden it started to run real rough, spitting and sputtering and eventually it shutdown.I emptied all fuel,removed the carburetor and fuel pump and cleaned and replaced all gaskets and replaced the gas hose from the tank to the engine. Now it'll crank good and idle good until it warms up, then idle speed will raise real high to almost like at half throttle and you'll hear a miss every now and again.
