I have 2023 Yamaha 150XB. with 233 hours on it. I change the oil according to manufactured spec and every 100 hours. It is 1 month past my warranty period. Its 3yrs and 1 month. My Tachometer read low oil pressure. I called the dealer and had my boat brought in for inspection. It turned out the Balancer assembly had broken off, the gear had broken off. They say a huge chunk of metal had already circulated throughout the powerhead. They cut open the oil filter and saw bunch of huge metal pieces in the oil filter. The dealer said the entire engine is no longer functional. Now Yamaha is deciding whether they should repair or replace the engine. My question has anyone heard about this issue, broken Balancer assembly with this number of hours. I think it is manufactured defect with gear delamination. On 2023 Yamaha 150hp. Barely 233 hours.
