2017 60HP 4 Stroke CT

I started the engine last week and it made a sort of backfire sound and stopped. Could also have been the sound of sudden hissing air during starting. It had been starting perfectly all summer. However during slow idle before this, you could hear a hissing sound from the engine. After this unsuccessful start, I started it again and it idled around 2500rpm and would not idle down.
I am thinking a vacuum line (s) issue? Any other ideas at all? Many thanks!
