Just picked up a 2006 pontoon with a 2006 50hp 4 stroke fuel injected motor. 1st time on water, motor ran really smooth but shift/throttle cable in reverse took everything I had. Took remote control apart and lubed the cables which helped a lot. Now the motor starts but does not idle smooth. It surges from 1k to 1500rpm once warmed up. It goes into gear ok and I can accelerate in either forward or reverse. This is with muffs on. I'm wondering if I knocked something out of adjustment. Idle control? Choke? Your thoughts are appreciated.
