Purchased a 2003 Yamaha 70 hp 2-cycle engine.
The engine had had an issue and was sent to a Yamaha shop for a complete rebuild.
Following the rebuild, I purchased the engine.
I began to break in the engine following recommended break in procedures with mixed idle, low and mid range engine running on the boat. The first two hours were completed with no issue and the motor performed perfectly.
On the 3rd hour, the engine began to make an intermittent click, or rattle. As time progressed, the clicking or rattle seemed to get worse. However, even as this noise was present, the engine continued to start and run perfectly at all speeds.
Any thoughts?
