1999 Mercury 150 EFI

This summer I have had to start using starter fluid to get my motor to run. Once started it will run and restart. I am noticing a rough idle though.

I figured it out. I installed a water temp gauge using the open wire from the temp sensor that runs up to the console on the boat. the temp gauge worked properly but evidently it interfered with the signal to the EFI module. Engine temp sensor controls the fuel setting on start-up. I disconnected the temp gauge that I installed and the motor starts every time.
