Need your help please! I just purchased a 1995 bass tracker TX17. It has a 1995 Mercury Tracker 60hp 2 stroke motor on it Had it on the lake for the first time. I ran it for a while then decided to give it full throttle by moving the handle forward all the way. All went well until I pulled back on the handle to reduce my speed and rpm. The handle moved back but the motor did not respond but continued racing at full throttle rpm. I placed it in nuetral and then reverse and the motor rpm did not respond but continued racing at full throttle.I removed both control cables at the engine at home. Tried starting it but continues to run full throttle rpm.So, I shut it off immeditatly. Any idea's to my problem? I ordered a new set of control cables but have not received them yet.
