I have a 1995 V60 Evinrude 115 hp motor that needs a new lower unit. I have checked around and have seen different ones on Craigslist. My questions are as follows:
1) is there a difference between the V60 & the V90 lower unit, and are they interchangable?
2) When it comes to engines of that size, are all the shaft lengths the same. I know that for some smaller outboard engines, some have long shafts (ex: Sail boat) versus a short shaft (ex. Jon boat) and do I need to be concerned.
3) I realize that both Johnson & Evinrude are made by OMC, but will a Johnson 115 hp lower unit fit an Evinrude 115 hp motor.
4) Are there any other concerns that I may need to be aware of.
