I just bought this boat. Don't know a lot about it yet. But I tried to start it and would not fire. So I checked the spark with a spark checker and got no spark. Then I pulled out the remote control handle to the warm up stage, and at half throttle it will get spark and start every time. Then works like a normal boat. but will not start unless it is done this way. Is there some sort of switch in the control box that will cut spark until it is shifted this way? AND if there is, how do I disable it. Then I checked compression and it seems to have a low compression kit. 80 lbs each cylinder. I know this was a popular kit then, can I change that out to regular compression by new head gaskets?
