1991 Johnson 200 starting problem

I have replace the starter switch and starter solenoid on my 1991 Johnson 200 gt. All gauges work and the tilt and trim work. The solenoid does not click or make the starter move. I can by pass the solenoid and the starter works fine. I have checked the battery and it is fine. It is like I am turning the key to nothing. Nothing happens, zilch! What to do?

i had the same issue with my 60 hp there your start switch or turn key could be bad you can follow the wire in my case it was yellow with a brown stripe back to the console then either replace the turn key or in my case i put in a push button start
