Boat engine shutting down.Trips Ign Breaker sometimes.

As you can see I have been hunting a problem that the dealer nor I can find. I talked to a parts guy today and he said Stingray had a problem with their Ignition Switch. Boat will run great and you never know when it just shuts off like you have turned the key off. Once or twice it had tripped the breaker. It resets and off we go again till it feels like its time to shut down again. This thing is beating me up. No loose connections ...Anyone else had this problem.

My 82 four winns just started showing the same symptoms
by: Craig Foley

1982 freedom with a 4.3 volvo penta v6. starts great, runs perfect at most speeds. But will at slow (no wake speed) cut out as if you turned the key. In my case I'm thinking the aged coil is starting to fail. When old coils get warm they just shut down till they cool down. I dont know if this sounds like your issue. But I'm hopeing a new coil will solve mine.
