when im travelling on the lake say at 3600 rpm don't really seem to matter what rpmout of nowhere it starts to act like its misfiring or running out of fuel. The only way to get it to run right again is to shift into neutral wait around 10 to 15 seconds and then you can give it throttle again, but after it does it once it will do the same thing about every 5 to 7 minutes. I changed filters put new gas and it still does it.

Fuel bulb? NEW
by: Tony

I had a similar experience. In describing the problem to a Mercury mechanic, I mentioned that the problem would resolve be shifting into neutral, or squeezing the fuel bulb. He said that a Mercury 115 shouldn’t have a fuel bulb (which apparently was installed by the previous owner). I replaced the fuel line and eliminated the bulb and have not had a single instance of this problem reoccurring!
