Johnson VRO 40 motor

by James
(southwestern Idaho)

I'm new a power boating and have a couple of questions recently aquired a 1987 galaxy w/john vro 40 motor in very nice condition was completely gone thru in sept.
Took it out the other day and ran flawless went back out yesterday and after 15 min on the water the engine died as though out of gas would restart after choaking and repeat the process all over again. The questions I have are, is there a oil reserve that needs to be checked, don't know where to find it. With the Vro motor I understand it mixes oil with the gas is this true. the other question is the fuel system does it need to be under pressure if not enough pressure will I get the fuel starvation until the pressure is restored.
Thanks
James
