I have a 1998 Mariner 150 EFI on my Sylvain Eliminator 1800 Fish and Ski. When I am accelerating from a stop, I hear and feel a sharp, loud clunk coming from the engine. It seems to come from the lower unit. I can avoid the clunk 80% of the time if I accelerate very slowly. I'll hear the clunk nearly every time when accelerating quickly, e.g. trying to pull a skier up.
