Bilge Light and Blower Light

by Rick
(Georgia)

I just got my boat back from a local marina who put a used engine in to replace another they had sold me that threw a rod after 3 runs. I got the boat back home and had left the plug in the boat. It rained the following day and obviously filled a good bit of the hull w/ water. The bilge and blower light came on although the bilge pump did not kick in. I emptied the water from the hull and the lights went off. Unfortunately, now the blower will not come on and I am assuming the bilge pump is not working. Both were fine prior to the new engine being put in.

Would the rain water, one days worth, be enough to cause damage to these items? Not a mechanic, and obviously neither are the guys I took it to.

Please advise.
