My 18', 1998 Monark pontoon has the 40hp 2-cycle Mercury outboard. The boat is new to me and so are outboard motors.
When operating the boat at mid to high speed the trim system does extend beyond a certain point. When in neutral speed it operates through it's full range.
Is this upper limit while operating a factory setting or safety feature for this motor?
