The motor was running at 5500 rpm and suddenly lost power and top rpm was 4000. Had fuel system cleaned and checked and 2 carbs rebuilt. Mechanic stated that the other carbs were working. Even checked the fuel.
When put back in water the motor started and idled great, better than before and when I opened the throttle it responded great and ran better than ever for about an hour and again it lost power and would only run a max of 4000rpm. I shut the motor off and used the kicker motor to fish for an hour or so and when I started the 115 to return to the resort, it would hardly run at any speed for a while and finally the rpm went to 4000 and we returned to the resort. Anythoughts as to what the trouble might be.
