yamaha 300 20202

When i am running at high speeds the engine kicks down on its own as if i pulled back on the throttle. It does not do this all the time . The first time it happened i thought i hit something in the water. it has happened on four different occasions but then it runs fine after it happens. The engine is a 20202 four stroke 300 with fly by wire controls.

Yamaha problems
by: DolpterryAnonymous

I have a 90 hp yamaha that has done that but my overheat alarm goes off even though i have a new impeller and engine is peeing very strong. Found out that salt builds up inside the water jackets and at high speed just not cool the block well enough. When it happens my engine just cuts back and if i sit maybe 30 seconds and restart it is back to normal. I bought some salt-away with a flush kits and flushed it several times and has cured the problem.
