winterizing a 1974 305 v8 inboard

i have always had my 74 chris craft express cruisers 305 v8 inboard (single)winterized but because of cutting back on the budget i would like to learn what i need to do myself. the marine costs 99.00 to do this. it seems i should be able to do this, if told how to do it properly.. any help on this i would appreciate.
