Engine bogs, max rpm ~2000 new plug wires, distributor, & rotor. Timing set with jumper in place. Plugs have ~15 hours on them. New fuel/water filter, replaced fuel pump. Engine has ~200 hrs. compression excellent, cylinder leak down excellent.

similar problem
by: Butch

I have a pair of 4.3 GXI's that had very little use for about 4 years when I bought the boat. the exhaust heat sensors on the back of the risers sensed an overheat situation and I wound up replacing manifolds and risers. The computer "de-powered the engines as programed to do but now the engines will not get over 2900 RPM when max should be 4000-4400.
Could the computers both still have that overheat code in them?
