Steel erector looking for rigging job
by Steve
(North Yorkshire)
Hi, I'am 39 years old and have worked in construction as a steel erector/rigger for 16+ years. I've been employed as a supervisor for about 6 of those, working on large high profile contracts in london. I have been out of the game for the last 3 years, but now i would really like to have a shot at some work offshore. I never did an aprenticeship so i have no formal qualifications, but i do have a lot of experience. All of my tickets have expired, eg. CPCS banksman/slinger. CCNSG safety passport. First aid. Although my CPCS telescopic forklift and Apponted person tickets are still valid. Do you think prospective employers would be interested in employing me? If so, what companies would you recommend contacting? I'm considering investing in my bosiet and medical and would just like to know what my chances are before spending money i don't really have. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
