Shore power

by Mitch
(San diego)

Hello I just purchased a Bayliner 3270, I was trying to connect to shore power with the 30amp 50ft cable and the 30amp to two 30 amp Y pigtail that was provided with the boat. I noticed some black arcing on the female end of the 50ft cable and some on the male end of the Y connector. When I tried the connection from the pier to the boat, and turn on a lamp (110) outlet, it is very dim then goes out completely. The boat has two 30amp inlet connectors and I would like to know how it was designed to be connected to shore power, so I do not cause any problems.

Thanks
