Offshore Qualifications.
by: Robbie

To be accepted offshore you will minimally need the following:
1. An offshore survival certificate for the area.
2. An offshore medical fitness certificate.

Many companies now require offshore personnel to perform emergency duties as well as their normal duties. If you have training already, this will make you more attractive to any potential employer. You could train in the following:
1. HLO (helicopter landing officer)
2. Fire fighting (there is some training in the offshore survival cert, but this can be augmented by additional training).
3. Lifeboat coxwain

There are many other courses available, but most are relatively expensive, and do not guarantee a job!!!

Offshore qualifications
by: John

It is hard to work offshore without some qualifications, the least skilled are drill rig drillfloor personnel such as roughnecks and roustabouts. Otherwise mechanical and electrical people with good industrial experience have a chance, catering crew with good expeience and qualifications.
