please help these wires a driving me crazy!

I'll try to make this short...I have a older boat with a three push button control, forward, neutral and reverse. I also have a five prong ignition. I think I have the ignition figured out but I don't know where the wires go from my engine. I have a 1968 Johnson motor, 40hp it has a green, red/white, tan, two black, white, and grey wires. From the control box there is three wires red yellow and blue. I have rigged it up to the battery and I know what the wires do I just don't know where to hook them? Any help is appreciated...thanks Dante
