There are many offshore rigs an all look different. It is hard to get experience without qualifications and I suggest initially as you are in Nigeria to go get some land or barge based drilling experience in Nigeria where there is plenty of oil activity, then apply for offshore drilling rig. Start as roughneck or roustabout and work well, show you can do a good job and then you have a chance. There is no such thing as unskileld offshore workers anymore
