Oil Rig Qualifications

by Shane Patel
(United Kingdom)

I'm looking to start a new career in the off shore industry. I am currently serving in the HM Forces as a Mechanical Engineer. My job covers working on all variants of Vehicles, Power Generators and Air Conditioning Units. I am First Aid and Fire Control Qualified and have all the discipline and hard work ethic expected of a combat soldier. I have also spent over 2 years away on Operation in War Zones so spending alot of time away from home is not a problem. On doing some reserch i have found out that i have to do a survival and helicopter underwater escape training course and also get a medical. Is there any other qualifications i need to get and can anyone help me with the right companies to approach

thank you
