Oil Rig Offshore Job

I currently work as a toolmaker/machinist. can you give me some advice in how i could seek work on the oil rigs /offshore work.

Not easy although you may get start as assistant mechanic but all depends on type of offshore area you are looking at such as production or drilling etc, oil rigs is a big term.
